THE MAGNIFICENT MAGNUM EXPERIENCE WITH MASTERCHEF KUNAL KAPOOR

As usual a few days back i was checking my mails.I was so surprised and overjoyed to see an invitation from FBAI to be a part of the event ” Magnum Launch with master class from Chef Kunal Kapoor.. ” Wow !!! i just couldn’t believe my eyes, i was so ecstatic, thrilled. It was just six months i started blogging and i couldn’t ask for anything more.. An opportunity to attend the launch of  ” MAGNUM @ bangalore – one of the world’s premium ice cream brand ” and  a chance to meet the so talented Chef !!!

Before i share my experience about the event, im sure many would be aware and may be few would have tasted Magnum abroad. But for those of you for whom Magnum is a new word, let me quickly give you a short intro about the world famous Magnum Ice creams…

It’s a luxe choco-bar on a stick ,fairly sophisticated flavors — vanilla wrapped in a neat, sturdy shell of Belgian chocolate.Magnum strongly believes ” A day without pleasure is a day lost… ” .They say if you haven’t tasted Belgian chocolate you haven’t experienced pure pleasure. To know more about Magnum click here and here Or you can like them at facebook .

All 3 flavors sounds yummy isn’t it ? The yummy Magnums, will soon be available from 1st march 2014, in Bangalore,Hyderabad,Chennai,Mumbai and Pune at a price of Rs 85/-.So get ready to beat the heat this summer with Magnum – pure “pleasure seekers “.

I’m sure after reading all this, you too would be eager to experience the pure Belgian chocolate indulgence.Till you get hold of your stick, let me share my experience @ Magnum launch ,tasting my first Magnum ice cream.. a taste that still lingers on…

Finally the D- Day came.Magnum launch event was held on 12 th Feb 2014 at the Island, Indrangar,Bangalore; 6.30 PM onwards.I was all excited.. at the same time ,nervous wreck as i hadn’t attended any such events before. So i was freaking out ,had no idea what to expect ,but eventually everything turned out really good  and i had a great time. I should give a special mention to the Master Chef Kunal Kapoor. He  was extremely down to earth and extremely funny ,had everyone cracking up and made feel at ease.

I reached their alone well ahead of time. After registering,i entered the event area .It was full of activities.Partners and sponsors were busy doing the last minute touch up and many cameras were clicking click click. Since i hardly knew other bloggers, i decided to occupy a seat somewhere in front. But to my luck, the seats next to me got occupied by Raksha ,Sharmi n Shwetha ,veteran food bloggers.

The session started with a chirpy happy VJ Cary talking a lot about chocolates and then introduced us to Chef Kunal Kapoor. The great chef needed no intro. He took over from Cary and added more to the temptations by going in depth about chocolates, the various types, test to identify the  best chocolate, how Magnum is different from other local Indian brands etc. There were couple of kids who were the spotlight of the show answering and questioning the chef.

After the warm interactive welcome session, our attention was turned to 3 choco samples in front of us labelled sample 1 ,2 and 3.We were supposed to taste test each of them and tell the difference between them and identify magnum chocolate. It was fun tasting and guessing. It was just the warm up for the main event.

Without anymore delay, the highlight of the evening ,first glimpse of  Magnum Ice cream @ Bangalore was unveiled.Wow!!They looked so classic .We all were served ice cream ,it was my first tasting of Magnum .So as i took my first bite,i was immediately met by the crack of the hard chocolate outer layer. The chocolate flavour was dense, sweet and rich. Then followed wonderful creamy vanilla ice cream with mild sweetness. The thick chocolate coating keeps the ice cream intact until the last bite.Magnum is a pure pleasure from its first distinctive crack to the last bite.I could hear so many ” mmmm …” from each table , every one was literally blown away .I
was feeling so happy to be one among the privileged crowd to taste it first in Bangalore !!

We were just thinking that the event was over after the indulgent experience. But then no.. we had a surprise awaiting us.Each table was given a challenge of decorating Magnum and preparing a Magnum Sundae. One member from the team rushed to pick few random items like gummy bears, jelly’s,sprinkles, jam, sauce etc. Inspired by Bangalore Traffic we made ” Traffic Signal ” with our Magnum and our Sundae was named “Lost in Magnum “. The fun activity had brought our creativity out.

The chef decorated magnum with Angrybird faces..

Soon the event came to end. We had dinner, clicked few clicks with the chef and took his autograph.I must admit i was on cloud nine while taking a pic with him. We also got a goodie bag  to carry back home having a cute pen drive n yummy magnum chocos.

Just can’t stop thanking FBAI and my blog for giving me a happy memorable evening.Fell in love with chocolate all over again…

Thanks for reading the post….plz drop ur valuable comments.. it really motivates me…Also If you liked this post, I would really love it if you could share it …Thank you !!

Love ~Smitha
