THE TANGRA FOOD FESTIVAL @ JW MARRIOTT HOTEL ,VITTAL MALYA ROAD

Hey Bangloreans …there’s some great news for you all !! Kolkata Chinatown comes alive at JW Marriott Bengaluru’s exclusive Tangra Food Festival.Flavors of city of Joy in Namma Bengaluru…specially curated by Chef  Surjan Singh Jolly and his team ,this ten day long festival is inspired by his culinary trails and is a tribute to this iconic cuisine .

Tangra is the locality in Kolkata where a huge Chinese migrant population settled. These alleys are the birthplace of the Indian Hakka food. Chili Chicken, Hakka noodles and other such amalgamations have all originated from the woks here. What began centuries ago, when the Chinese immigrants from the Hakka region settled down in Calcutta has today taken the shape of a cuisine in itself.

Chef  Jolly loves travelling and this is what he discovered from the city of joy .

The food festival started on October 31 ..this ten day long food festival aims to recreate a complete experience of Kolkata Chinatown and showcase the best of Kolkata Chinese .I experienced this delish last saturday along with other blogger friends. We also had a masterclass with the chef organised there.I must admit Chef joly and his team were a great host.

Tangra cuisine is more of non veg. But catering to Indian adaptions many veg dishes too have been included like golden fried babycorn, mushrooms, threaded cottage cheese ,veg momos and much more.

The ‘Tangra FoodFestival’ also showcases a special Chinese cocktail menu featuring drinks like the Shandong Mary, Beijing Bellini, Red Lotus and an interesting Mango Spice Cocktail.

If you have to soak in the charm and nostalgia of Tangra, drop in at the JW Kitchen and experience everything that Kolkata Chinatown is all about.

The food festival is on till November 9 and is priced at Rs 1599+ taxes for the food buffet
