A few days before , i was invited to the recently launched Skylit rooftop restaurant at Citrus Hotel , Cunnigham road , Bangalore for dinner with my family. Located in the heart of the city , the restuarant was very easy to locate .
The first glimpse of Skylit when i entered it ..was just Wow !!! Blue light atmosphere , dim candle light on the dining table ....the ambiance was quite lovely and romantic.... perfect to enjoy a candle light dinner with your loved ones . The place is also apt for party with friends an family .
Cool Breeze on the top and view of the city from the top is breathtaking .
It also has a bar with high table ,chair with large flat screen TV's playing the live IPL cricket match .There is an open kitchen where they make kebabs and continental grills and barbecues from all over the world. .
The restuarant serves kebabs & continentals grills and barbeques from all over the world from platter to plate. Besides kebabs the meal comprises of a buffet with gravy dishes, biryanis seasonal, vegetables, Indian breads, salads and delicious desserts
The various starters served for the day were Peshawari Paneer, Chamman Ka Seekh, Aloo Pudina Tikki, Gilafi Tandoori Aloo, Mexican Grilled Veg, Veg Polenta, Cottage Cheese Saltier and Veg Fajitas in the vegetarian section and Lal Mirch ki Tangdi, Chakundri Murg, Mutton Seekh, Sarsowali Macchi, Lamb Chop in pepper sauce, Jalapeno Cheese Fish, Barbeque Garlic Squids and BBQ Chicken. These were the 16 types of starters 8 Veg and 8 non veg . Loved some , few were just OK . My non veg friends were telling they loved veg starters more than non veg . After having heartful and almost stomach full of starters we thought of tasting maincourse nad desserts . In the main course there was Thai Noodle soup , bread basket ,Ghost Khada Masala , Kesari Paneer, Subz Lababdar , Dal Makhani , Szechwan Noodles, Exotic vegetables in Peanut Sauce ,Veg and chicken biryanis and some salads. Among all these i loved kesari paneer . It was so flavourful , unique and authentic . Dal makhani was creamy , spicy and yummy .In desserts section was Plum Pudding, Litchi Pastry, Basbousa, Mango Barfi, Champakali, Gajar Halwa, Ice-cream and fresh cut fruits. I didn't have much space left to taste all these varieties nor have i sweet tooth . I tasted gajar ka halwa , champakali and my favorite litchi pastry . Just loved carrot halwa .
Overall Verdict :
Quality: 4 /5
All in all it was a lovely evening well spent with my family , my friends , lovely food with a great ambience . I strongly recommend this place for a romatic dinner with your loved ones and a great place to catch up with your friend .Thank you “Skylit” for inviting me .
